Project Overview
At the corporate headquarters of Summerwood Corporation, the design brief was simple but demanding:
Create open, light-filled office spaces without sacrificing privacy for meetings, HR discussions, and executive collaboration.
Traditional blinds, curtains, or permanent frosted glass were not acceptable. The space needed to feel modern, transparent, and architectural — not patched with afterthought privacy solutions.

The answer was PriWatt™ PDLC Switchable Film, applied into interior glass partitions to deliver instant, on-demand privacy while preserving the clean aesthetic of a contemporary corporate environment.
Corporate offices live in a contradiction:
- Glass walls create openness, light, and a premium look
- Meeting rooms, boardrooms, and HR spaces require privacy
- Frosted glass kills the openness
- Blinds look temporary and unprofessional
- Curtains don’t belong in modern offices
Summerwood wanted glass that behaves differently when needed — not glass that is permanently compromised.
The PriWatt™ Solution
PriWatt™ PDLC film was integrated into the glass partitions of private offices throughout the workspace.
In OFF mode (no power): the glass turns opaque, providing full visual privacy.
In ON mode: the glass becomes clear, restoring transparency and natural light flow.
This allowed Summerwood’s team to maintain:
- A visually open office layout
- Bright, naturally lit interiors
- Instant privacy at the flip of a switch
No mechanical shades. No visual clutter. No design compromises.
Why PDLC Was Ideal for This Environment
PDLC technology is particularly effective for interior corporate applications where:
- Privacy is needed temporarily, not permanently
- Glass partitions are part of the architectural design language
- Clean lines and minimalism are priorities
- Meeting spaces must transform quickly without distraction
Unlike exterior applications, interior office environments benefit from PDLC’s fast switching and uniform opacity, making it perfect for boardrooms, meeting rooms, and executive spaces.
Integration Into the Workspace
The film was applied within the laminated glass assemblies, ensuring:
- Long-term durability
- Uniform appearance across panels
- Clean electrical integration with concealed wiring
- Seamless control through wall switches
From the user’s perspective, it works like lighting — press a switch, and the glass changes state.
Result
The finished installation achieved exactly what the design team envisioned:
✔ A modern, transparent corporate environment
✔ Professional meeting spaces with instant privacy
✔ A premium architectural feature that visitors immediately notice
✔ A practical solution that employees use every day
PriWatt™ did not add something to the office.
It became part of the architecture.
A New Standard for Corporate Glass
This project at Summerwood demonstrates a growing trend in corporate design:
Glass is no longer static. It is now a functional element of the workspace.
With PriWatt™, privacy is no longer a compromise — it is an engineered feature of the glass itself.
For architects, designers, and corporate planners, this installation serves as a clear example of how switchable glass can elevate both form and function in modern office environments.
